After graduating from dental school, Dr. Varun Sharma moved to the Pacific Northwest. At that time, he joined Avenue Dental Care as an associate in the Puyallup practice and has been serving our community ever since.
After falling in love with the area, he bought the practice, making Washington his permanent home.
Dr. Sharma lives in the Seattle area with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the many outdoor activities that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Dr. Arpita Sharma has been known to be a perfectionist, that’s why making a career out of dentistry suited her perfectly. She obtained her DDS from University Of Southern California, LA in 2005 and relocated to Washington with her family. Honesty, integrity, and compassion are the virtues she lives by and these attributes form the core of her dental practice. She firmly believes that trust, healthy communication, and mutual respect are the cornerstones of a long lasting patient doctor relationship. With her vast knowledge and experience, she and her team are proud to offer ethical, professional and compassionate care to patients like you. Dr. Arpita is a big believer in giving back and helping out in the community. She and her wonderful staff give back to the community by organizing a biannual, free dental day in their office for underprivileged, uninsured patients in need of dental care.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association, and the Washington State Dental Association. Dr. Sharma continuously seeks out training and professional development opportunities that allow her to remain aware and knowledgeable about new dental practices and the latest technology being used.
In her free time, Dr. Arpita enjoys traveling, hiking in the Northwest’s beautiful outdoors, boating, and watching her two daughters grow too quickly before her eyes
Dr. Vikas Puri is a board certified periodontist. Dr. Puri completed his dental degree from a well reputed college in India. After finishing his dental degree, he joined the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as a house surgeon and practiced general dentistry in India.
Dr. Puri entered the graduate periodontics residency program at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he received a Master’s of Science in Dentistry (MSD) Degree, and a Certificate of Periodontics and Implantology and a Minor in Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine. Dr. Puri’s research was related to the role of salivary toll like receptors 2 and 4 modulation in the innate immune response to chronic periodontitis; his research was published in the Journal of Periodontal Research. He also performed a case series to examine the efficacy of stem cell incorporation in allograft. In 2013, he was elevated to Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology. Board certification is reserved for an elite group of periodontists who have made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. Dr. Puri was practicing in a very contemporary and progressive periodontal practice in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Puri Lectures on various topics such as Contemporary soft tissue grafting, Periodontal regeneration, full mouth rehabilitation with dental implants, laser dentistry, and Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics in local dental societies and hygiene study clubs.
Dr. Puri is actively involved in a number of professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Board of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, Ohio State Dental Society, and the Midwest Society of Periodontology. Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Puri enjoys traveling, likes to play tennis, cricket, and watch football.
